ALEX has a bad cold, and his flight has been delayed. What has been a long and tough day on a business trip is about to become a long night if he misses his connection in Denver. He is the typical married 50’s something engineer burdened by work, finances and family. As he settles into his cramped coach seat to get some much needed sleep, he is interrupted by the arrival of CARRIE in the seat next to his. Carrie is young and libertine, the kind of talkative type that is Alex’s worst nightmare on a long flight, especially with a bad cold.
Alex’s fears come true as she begins the dreaded in-flight interrogation. He tries to be polite and interacts with minimal responses while trying to close his eyes. He realizes this is futile as the head flight attendant, PRESTON, a self-assured metro-sexual, is determined to make the flight as fun as possible to make up for the late departure. Preston quickly sees that Carrie is on-board for the fun and games and makes sure she is supplied with enough alcohol to keep the party on track until landing. The more she drinks the more she opens up to Alex, and the more he listens the more he is intrigued by her appetite for life.
Carrie becomes friendlier as Preston continues the supply of drinks. Alex begins to wonder if she is coming onto him. This question looms larger as they approach the end of their flight. If they miss their connecting flights, they will both have to stay overnight in Denver.
Chet’s attractive co-worker, TINA, sitting across the aisle, watches in disbelief. She has never seen this new side of Alex and gets caught up in the developing drama. Tina is initially critical of their intentions but begins to question her own feelings for Alex.
The plane lands, and Alex and Carrie have only minutes to make their connection. Alex’s anxiety grows and his heart pounds as he and Carrie run together through the airport towards their gates. What will happen if they miss their flights? What will Alex decide to do? What will he tell Tina?
